Making your visit as comfortable as possible...
We pride ourselves on the friendly welcome you receive here at Bexleyheath Dental Practice and this particularly extends to children who are often a little nervous about seeing a dentist, particularly for the first time.
Children’s dental care is of prime importance – getting into good habits early in life will play a significant role in ensuring a healthy mouth, teeth and gums for life. Our dentists are able to put children at ease and treat them very gently so that they do not fear going to the dentists and start off in life with a good understanding of the importance of brushing their teeth every day.
Baby teeth start to appear from the age of 6-10 months and play an important role with the development of chewing and of speech. By bringing them to visit Bexleyheath Dental from an early age, we are able to monitor the progress and health of your child’s teeth and also able to identify any possible future problems before their permanent teeth arrive.
The first appointment is all about helping parents and guardians to learn the best ways to help their child achieve good oral health. We will show your child how to brush their teeth properly, how to hold their toothbrush, how much toothpaste to use, how long to brush for, and the right times of day to brush their teeth. We also offer dietary advice.
For children, teens and young adults in full-time education NHS dentistry is free of charge. And for private treatment, our charges are always set at affordable levels.
Some children may need corrective treatment for crooked teeth, or gaps in their smile. We provide a comprehensive range of Orthodontic treatments at Bexleyheath Dental and should your child need orthodontic treatment, we will guide you and your child through every step of the process until their beautiful new smile is revealed.
