Modern Day Slavery
Introduction
Bexleyheath Dental Practice is committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or business. We are developing a system for supply chain verification, whereby Bexleyheath Dental Practice evaluates potential suppliers before they enter the supply chain, and reviews existing supply chain supppliers.
This statement sets out our actions to understand the potential modern slavery risks related to our business and to put in place steps to ensure that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our business and its supply chains.
Organisational structure
Our practice is based in Bexleyheath and supplies dental products and services. We have over 40 members of staff
Relevent policies
We operate the following policies which support our approach to the identification of modern slavery risks and steps to be taken to prevent slavery and human trafficking:
Anti-slavery and Human Trafficking Policy – Reflecting our commitment to acting ethically in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
Employee code of conduct – Bexleyheath Dental Practice makes it clear to employees the actions and behaviour expected of them when representing the company. Bexleyheath Dental Practice strives to maintain the highest standards of employee conduct and ethical behaviour.
Whistleblowing policy – We encourage concerns related to our activities and the supply chains of our organisation to be reported. Our whistleblowing procedure is designed to make it easy for workers to make disclosures and we have an confidential phone message facilty to support this.
Process for Slavery and Human Trafficking
We have in place processes to:
• Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains.
• Protect whistle blowers.
Training
Bexleyheath Dental Practice will provide the following training:
As well as training staff, the organisation will raise awareness of modern slavery issues and in particular:
• principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015;
• how to identify and report slavery and human trafficking
